Written by Nicola Curtis | 02 August 2024

Today, we’re chatting with Ivan Kadic, the CEO and co-founder of 60 Seconds, an app transforming pricing optimisation through the power of AI.

Hi Ivan! Could you share the story behind your startup, including the problem you set out to solve and the inspiration that led to its creation?

Absolutely, our journey with 60 Seconds began with a simple yet profound realisation - the challenges businesses face in optimising pricing strategies.

The inspiration came from recognising the need for a solution that not only benefits sellers in achieving optimal prices but also empowers consumers with transparency. Our goal was to bridge this gap and revolutionise the pricing optimisation space.

What were the initial challenges you faced when launching 60 Seconds, and how did you overcome them?

Like any startup, we encountered roadblocks. Challenges ranged from refining our AI algorithms to navigating the intricacies of the market.

Each obstacle became an opportunity for learning and growth, shaping our resilience and determination to overcome hurdles on the path to success.

Could you tell me a bit more about your team, and how you've grown the business?

Building a strong team is at the core of our success. We prioritise assembling individuals who share our passion and vision.

Motivation comes from fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, ensuring each team member feels valued. Their dedication plays a pivotal role in propelling our company's growth.

Have there been any significant changes or evolutions in your business strategy, and what motivated those decisions?

Adaptability is key in the startup landscape. We have experienced evolutions in our business strategy, driven by market dynamics and user feedback.

Our decisions are motivated by a commitment to delivering the best value to our users. Flexibility and responsiveness are crucial traits in navigating the ever-changing business landscape.

What advice would you offer to others seeking mentorship?

Mentorship has been instrumental in our development. Advisors have provided valuable insights and guidance, helping us navigate challenges. My advice to fellow founders is to seek mentorship actively.

Mentorship is a powerful catalyst for growth, offering perspectives that are often transformative.

For aspiring entrepreneurs and early-stage founders, what are the most critical pieces of advice you would give to help them on their startup journey, based on your own experiences?

I'd emphasise the importance of resilience and a passion-driven approach. Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn, surround yourself with a supportive network, and never underestimate the power of continuous learning.

Do you have a share scheme in place? If so, what does that do for your company?

We do have a share scheme in place. It plays a significant role in fostering a sense of ownership among our team members, aligning their success with the company's overall growth.

It's a testament to our belief in collaboration and shared success.

Love that! In a competitive market, differentiation is key. What sets 60 Seconds apart and how do you maintain a competitive edge?

What sets us apart is our commitment to innovation and staying ahead in the AI revolution. Our sophisticated algorithms and dedication to transparency distinguish us in a competitive market.

Continuous refinement and a customer-centric approach help us maintain our competitive edge.

If you could time travel to any point in history to meet an iconic entrepreneur or innovator, who would it be?

If I could time travel, meeting Steve Jobs during the early days of Apple would be fascinating. I would inquire about his vision, the challenges he faced, and the strategies he employed to create an iconic brand.

If you could have a one-hour conversation with any historical business figure, who would it be and what would you ask them?

A hypothetical one-hour conversation with both Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison together would be an extraordinary experience.

Their collaborative and, at times, competitive relationship during the early days of electricity and innovation symbolises the essence of a 21st-century entrepreneur.

It underscores the vital combination of inventive genius and business acumen required to shape the world we live in today.

I would delve into discussions about their visionary ideas, collaborative dynamics, and the lessons they learned that resonate with the challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the contemporary landscape.

We would love to be a part of that interesting conversation too. Thanks for your time, Ivan.
